Molly Bowen wrote Mommy Lawyer to teach her children about her career but, more importantly, to give herself and other mommy lawyers a tool to help children be more understanding and proud of the fact that they have a working mother.
After taking the time to teach them about her career through Mommy Lawyer, Molly discovered that her kids more supportive of the work she does outside of the home and less disappointed when she occasionally missed a special day at school or didn't make it home in time to tuck them in. Mommy Lawyer not only provides children with a basic understanding of what lawyers do, it helps children see their working mother's career in a more positive light.

This is such a cute book! Not only is it a fun read with beautiful illustrations, but it teaches kids an important message- that even though mom may be busy with work at times, she is always thinking of her kids and the important work she is doing is ultimately for them! This book is great for moms who aren’t lawyers as well! It explains the job of a lawyer in a way that is fun and easy for a child to understand! I really enjoyed reading this book with my son, and we are excited to see what “Mommy Lawyer” will come up with next!
I absolutely love this book! As a mommy lawyer I’m always trying to explain why mommy has to be away or why I miss certain events and this book not only explains to my son why, but let’s him visually understand the reasons. A wonderful book for all working moms!
I loved Mommy Lawyer, and the message it sends to children (and parents!). We should continue to encourage women to pursue their careers and dreams without guilt and be able to have a happy, healthy family while doing so. Its also so important to teach growing children about the juggling act working parents face, and Mommy Lawyer does this in a fun and engaging way!
