Britt Atkinson

Brittany Atkinson spent years talking herself out of being an artist. A born and raised Texan and a boy mom in Austin, she kept setting painting aside for the rest of life. It didn't stay set aside. Today she works in acrylics, oils, and charcoal, painting abstract female portraits drawn from the women who raised her. Every face carries the same invitation: take up space and live without apology. Shop originals and prints from the project below.

Brittany Atkinson

Brittany Atkinson is a contemporary artist living in Austin, Texas. A born and raised Texan and mom to two boys, she spent years setting painting aside before deciding she was done ignoring it. Her abstract female portraits, worked in acrylics, oils, and charcoal, draw from the women who shaped her — each one an invitation to take up space and live without apology. Her practice now spans gallery representation, commissions, collaborations, and a growing print collection, with work hanging in the Neon Armadillo among other projects. She believes art is for everyone.
