Shane Moody
Working from his barn art studio on his Texas Hill Country ranch, Shane Moody creates expressive oil paintings inspired by ranch life, wildlife, and the landscapes of the American West. Blending impressionism and realism, his work captures the natural beauty and spirit of the American West.
Shane’s work has been featured at multiple galleries, art shows, and with outdoor brands such as Turtlebox and MossyOak.
Raised exploring national parks, mountain ranges, and remote landscapes throughout North America, Shane spent much of his youth in West Texas, graduating from high school in Midland. It was there that a neighbor and mentor introduced him to painting, teaching him not only artistic techniques but also how to observe the world with intention and translate its stories onto canvas.
His summers were equally formative, spent on his grandparents' ranch in Oklahoma, where he learned to ride horses, work cattle, and appreciate the values of hard work, stewardship, and respect for the land. Those experiences instilled a deep admiration for the ranching heritage of the American West—one that continues to inspire many of the subjects found throughout his collection.
After earning a degree from Texas A&M University, Shane built a successful career in the corporate world while living in both Texas and Hawaii. Yet despite professional success, the landscapes and experiences that shaped his youth never lost their hold on him.
Today, Shane is a full time artist who lives with his family at their ranch in Wimberley, Texas. Shane’s art is often inspired by the Texas longhorns, horses, wildlife, and people that live in or near their property. Each original painting is an invitation to slow down and experience the timeless character, spirit, and awe of the American West.
